Frequently asked questions.

What is The Food Barn?

It all began in lockdown, when on-site businesses Sailors Creek Shellfish and Soul Farm ,along with site landlord, Andy recognised the potential to create something unique for the local area. Where the local community could benefit from and be provided with the connection to local small, independent businesses, alongside offering the opportunity for those small businesses to diversify and adapt during a hard time for all. To be able to continue to trade and raise awareness of what the surrounding areas can produce and grow. Hence, The Food Barn was born as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

Where are you located?

Find us on Google Maps at TR11 5UQ. We are just outside the lovely village of Flushing - look out for the big layby as you crest the hill before you reach Flushing village, you’ll see our entrance as you approach the layby.

What days/times are you open?

Every Saturday throughout the year, 9am - 1pm. We are lucky in that we are located in a covered barn with one open side so are pretty much sheltered year round.

What stalls are there?

Stalls vary each week. We pride ourselves on providing both variety and quality, and alongside the regular essential food stalls we also rotate other stalls to make each week unique and interesting! Check out our social media pages https://www.instagram.com/foodbarn.tregew/ or https://www.facebook.com/foodbarn.tregew to find out who’s attending each week.

Is there parking available/disabled access?

Yes. Just ask our steward on the gate when you enter the gates and they will point you in the right direction for easy access to the market. For all other visitors there is a big field for free parking available.

Are there toilet facilities?

We have installed composting toilets on site which means no nasty chemicals and a self regulating toilet system that ticks all the eco boxes and has probably the best view any toilet can have across to Falmouth Bay!

Are you dog friendly?

Yes! We love seeing owners and their furry friends here at The Food Barn, a lot of them make it onto our social pages (bow ties at the ready!) we just ask you to please keep your dog on a lead whilst you’re visiting the market.
